Book review: Out of my Mind
Lately I have been reading a book called Out of my Mind. It is an amazimg book!!!!!!! It is about a girl who has special needs, but the cool thing about it is that it is written in her perspective. It gives you a whole different perspective on handicapped people. I would definitely recommend this book. It is perfect for all ages!! My mom, brother, and I have all read this book and it is defiantly a number 10!!!!!!!
ecosystem project
For school in 6th grade you have to do an ecosystem project, you usually use a shoe box. I did an ocean ecosystem. Here is an idea of how to do one. I had a really fun time doing it!!!!!!!!!!
DIY Dole Pineapple Whip
Here is another fun, fast and easy recipe to make from Disneyland. My family also loved this one. (You can go to http://studio5.ksl.com/index.php?nid=126&sid=25645261 and they have a video on how to make them.) DELICIOUS!!!!!!
Ingredients:
- 2- 20 ounce cans Dole crushed pineapple with juice
- 2 T lemon juice
- 2 T lime juice
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1 and 1/2 c. heavy whipping cream, whipped OR 1 (8 ounce) container of Cool Whip
Method:
Place pineapple with juices, lemon juice, lime juice, and sugar in blender or food processor container; cover and blend until smooth. Pour into two 1-quart freezer zipped bags and store bags flat in freezer. Freeze 1-1/2 hours or until slushy. Stir pineapple slush gently into whipped cream until slightly blended, in large bowl. Return to freezer until completely frozen, about 2 hours.( I added strawberries on top when serving)
Chocolate Peanut Butter Sandwiches
It's the middle of the summer (spring, fall, or winter) and somehow Disneyland didn't make it on the list of family vacations this year. Here is a fun, fast, and easy treat to make treat. (You can go to http://studio5.ksl.com/index.php?nid=126&sid=25645261 and they have a video on how to make them.)
I made these treats for my family and friends and they loved them!!!!!
Ingredients:
- 3 graham cracker sheets, split in half
- 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 lb chocolate candy coating (chocolate flavored almond bark works well)
Method:
Melt chocolate in microwave or stove top according to directions on package. Take one piece of graham cracker and dip in chocolate. Shake cracker to get rid of excess chocolate and place on a small cookie sheet covered with wax paper. Repeat with remaining graham cracker pieces. Place cookie sheet in the freezer for about 10 minutes to help the chocolate harden faster.
Pull the chocolate-covered crackers out of the freezer and spread 2 tablespoons of peanut butter on each one. Push the peanut butter all the way to the edge and try to get it as even as possible. Once you have topped all of the crackers with peanut butter, return cookie sheet to the freezer and let harden for about 10 minutes.
Remove the cookie sheet and using the rest of your melted chocolate, spoon a couple of spoonfuls onto each cracker, until all the peanut butter is covered. Make sure that you also have enough to spread on the sides of each cookie (I found that it helped to use a plastic knife to do the sides). Place sandwich cookies back in the fridge for about 5 minutes.
Remove the cookies from the freezer one last time and using the small amount of chocolate leftover, drizzle on top of each sandwich cookie. Keep cookies in the fridge until you are ready to eat them (they tend to melt and get all gooey very quickly!).

"Under The Sea"
This summer I decided to through a back to school party for my sister. And after a lot of planning sending out invitations ( I created them on Microsoft word) and waiting the day finally came.
The day before I melted crayons blues, greens, and whites. I also cut out fish, then when the girls came and we waited for other girls to come they got their "ocean"( blue paper or white paper) and glued their fish on. Then they used their crayons to make waves and other under the sea things.
Next we were going to play sea lions where you are a sea lion and you have to keep the balloons up in the air but the wind was to strong so we played "what time is it mr. dolphin "
And yes, I did use my fish to decorate. When you go your food you went outside and had a picnic lunch.
After they finished eating they got a plate and came to the bucket were I had put sand and sand treasures ( I mixed I up after the picture) Each girl dug up a shovel or two full and put it on their plate they went back to the table and sorted through it. Then they arranged them in a jar filled with sand. They look AMASSING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After the party I was exosted but it was worth it!!!!!!!

When all the girls had come it was slip-en-slide time. Thanks to my helpers " beach bum, and surf nut" to keep the water going. |

Soon it was time for lunch. For lunch we had green jello in the shape of shark, sea horses, star fish, and flowers, peanut butter and jelly or ham and cheese in the shape of a flower, melon ( I was going to cut it into star fish as well but the melon was to soft ), colorful gold fish, sweetish fish, crackers, and to top it off a mango smoothie. It was delicious!
All to soon it was time to go home. Each girl had a bag to carry their stuff in. We had an awesome day!
