Winter Clean Out...

As winter is just around the I decided that it was high time I cleaned out my room.  As I went I discovered a few little tricks to keep you things a little more organized and neat.

Number 1:
I hung all my scarfs in the back of my closet on hooks. Their was only one problem, they were always falling off. Then I realized how simple it could be, just tie a knot (closed to the top) in your scarf and you have a little loop you can hang it on. SIMPLE AS THAT!

Number 2:
I got all my papers that I decided to keep and put them in a accordion folder.

I then put them in different slots and labeled them.

My favorite organizing tip though was I got  sheet protectors and I put all the papers that went in that group in the sheet protector and then put it in the slot in the accordion folder. For example the stuff to make a Christmas banner I put in a protective sheet and the pictures that I have ripped out of magazines that I want to someday get are in another slot.

Personal Progress Done in a Year!

I completed my personal progress!!!!  Ok so this is a little late but I finished it on May 16th. Some people will say that that I am done from doing personal progress but that is far from the truth. With completing my personal progress I am working towards getting an honor bee and after that I would like to start the process all over again. I love personal progress!!!  Personal progress is so amazing and I would  challenge everyone to do it. I learned so much and it has changed my life for ever. There are so many talents that I have gained that it can use in my future life and home that it might not have gotten if I didn't do personal progress I also have such a stronger testimony from searching the scriptures. I really learned I learned how to use all the manuals and tool that we have to help me gain even more knowledge.  Another thing that I have realized through doing personal progress is that I have such a better day because I have the spirt with me, I am much happier, and I am doing something that is really benefiting my future life that I know I will use and I am taking those steps to reach my goals. Personal progress is about setting goals and reaching them and I feel like I am on that track to reaching those major goals in my life by doing personal progress.  I want everyone to reach there full potential and personal progress can help you do that because you are princesses and you have destinies to become queens.

Knowledge #2 and Back to School Project

Knowledge #2 for personal Progress says:

In your journal list talents you have and others you would like to develop. Read Matthew 25:14–30. Learn a new skill or talent that will help you care for your own future family or home (for example, playing the piano, singing, budgeting, time management, cooking, sewing, or child care). Share with your family, class, or Young Women leader what you have learned.

This is a great one that you can do for your young women's weekly activity.  Read Matthew 25:14–30 and then list the talents you have and others that you would like to develop in your journal.

For the  skill to develop I thought that with school coming just around the corner that it would be great to learn some organizing skills.  And to do a craft to help us practice that durning the school year.

Magnetic Chalkboard:
Here is a cute magnetic organizer for your locker. You put it in your locker and then when you have homework in that subject you put the magnet on that day.

Your first step to make this magnet board is to make and then cut out your chalkboard background. I created mine using Word  I found the chalkboard background here then I found this cool website here that you can install fonts. The fonts that I used were:
Homework- here
Monday- here
Tuesday- here
Wednesday- here
Thursday- here
Friday- here
Arrow- here
*For the arrow it was a little tricky but you just install it like a font and then "D" is the arrow
i can do this saying- I just used was Monotype Corsiva which was already installed in word.

You now need to get your sheet of metal (not aluminum) I got mine at hobby lobby here.
*If you cant find the magnetic sheet you could try just making two cute magnets and putting them at the top to hold it  ( I haven't tried it but it might work)
You then just modge podge the front side of your medal sheet.

Then you want to put your paper on the modge podge (make sure that you don't have any air bubbles) and after you have done that you want to paint modge podge over that top of your chalkboard. (That is what will give it the glossy finish.)  Let it dry!

Now get your glue gun out and glue one or two magnets on the back so that it will stick to your locker. Let that dry and you are done with the chalkboard!!!

Magnets:
Your next step is the magnets.  I found my magnets (circle ones) at hobby lobby as well.  I found some cute online patterns that I just printed off here are some of my favorites:
Here
Here

Your first step for the magnets is to print off patterns or get scrapbook paper and then you can either just write your subjects on the paper or type and print your subjects off. (You can do this in two ways too I will show you one way and the other way is if you are printing off patterns you can just type on them and then print)

Now get your magnets and modge modge and paint on your magnet

Then get your paper and put that on top of the magnet you can chose to keep it square or you can cut it in a circle to fit the shape of the magnet.

Now get your subject and cut it out so that it is small then put modge podge on it then stick it on the magnet. An then put modge podge over the whole thing.  Let it Dry!  Repeat the steps to make as many magnets as you want!

Clothes Pin Magnets:
Here is another cute idea that you can do to remind yourself things or to hang things up in your locker.

Glitter:
The first kind you can do is glitter. Get your Elmer's glue, clothes pin, glitter,  paper plate, and modge podge with your brush.

Your first step is to put elmer's glue on your clothes pin. (Spread it around)

Now for the glitter part you can do this two ways:
1. You can dump the glitter on the plate and then rub the clothes pin in it.
or
2. You can just dump the glitter over the clothes pin.

After they have dried for about 24 hrs. you can then modge podge over them and then let that dry and then you are done!

Paper:
For paper get your supplies...

And then modge podge on the clothes pin...

Cut your paper to fit the size and stick it on...

Modge podge over it...

Let it Dry and you are DONE!!!!

Thanks if you have any questions leave a comment and I will respond back to you as soon as I can!

Enjoy the Moments

As I was at a soccer game for one of my brothers I was reminded that we need to enjoy the everyday moments in life by my younger brother as he was playing with a lady bug.

There are so many joys in life we just need to find them.

Beautiful Green Grass
Warm Cookies from out of the Oven
Plants Beginning to grow

I was also reminded of the joys of life when we went to a pond and there were geese. The younger kids eyes and face as they chased them around.

"Sub" Sandwiches

One of my jobs this summer was to make lunch everyday. One of my favorite lunch ideas so far has been "sub sandwiches" I just got a couple kinds of cheese and meat, french baget bread,  some lettuces, mustard, just throw in some fruit, and you are SET!
* This would also be great in a school lunches

Temple Trip

I had an amazing experience when I went to the temple with my family to get my sisters baptism pictures.  We where taking pictures when Sister Reeves and Sister Durham (she is the new 2nd counselor in the primary presidency) where getting a tour of the temple ground. An amazing experience that I will never forget! Click (here) for another post about the general women's leaders.

6/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder

* These are perfect to freeze and throw in cold lunch for school.

How to deal with those "terrible, horrible, no good, very bad days"

Do you ever have those days when everything goes wrong, were you are down in the dumps. And all you want to say is that it is a "terrible, horrible, no good very, bad day."  Something that I have learned is that when you are having one of those days you just need to get your feelings out so that you can truly understand how you are feeling. Whether it is just talking to a friend, parent, writing in your jornal...  When you do this, at least for me, it helps me to really get how I am feeling and kinda put together the reason why I am feeling that way.  You need to disconnect yourself from the world and take a break.  However going onto technology isn't he best idea as I have learned because  you will get stuck in it. You will spend more time then you need on your break.

VIDEO: Homemade Rolls

Home Made Rolls from Tasha Bradshaw on Vimeo.

Homemade Rolls
(This recipe is quick and easy.)

1 cup hot water
1 tablespoon butter
1 package yeast (2 ¼ teaspoons)
¼ cup sugar
1 egg
3 cups flour
1 tsp. salt

Put 1 cup hot water in a bowl.  Melt butter in the hot water.  Let the water cool until warm.  Add yeast, sugar, and egg to the water.  Mix.  Add 2 cups flour and the salt.  Mix.  Add 1 cup flour.  (a little more if needed) Knead for 10 min.  Let stand to rise for 20 minutes.  Grease a 9x13 pan.  Shape into round balls.  (about 15)  Let rise until they double in size.  Bake at 400 degrees for 12 minutes.

Tips:  I usually double the recipe and put them on a greased cookie sheet. It makes about 30 rolls.

General Women's Session

This past saturday my mom, sister, and I had the chance to go and watch the General Women's Session. It is for women and girls ages 8 years old and up and the women leaders of the church speak to you. It is filled with many inspiring messages.

Women are in charge of three organizations in my church: Relief society (the program for 18 and older women), Young Women's (the program for girls 12-17), and Primary (the program for children 3-11)

These are the amazing women who are great role models in life:
